If you’ve been wondering why you can’t breathe…I found the culprit in plain sight on the side of the road…

Just found out one of my favorite bands is actually from near my hometown! Check ‘em: Phantogram

I took a ton of these dramatically lit shots with different poses, but there is something about this one I really like…sometimes I think one photo is more powerful than giving you a bunch to look at.

Scott’s senior portrait session

September 28th, 2010 Permalink

He’s just cool, relaxed, and chill.  As much as I enjoyed hanging with Scott for his laid back and witty humor, he is a seriously impressive senior! He’s rocking the AP college classes.  And the soccer field.  AND the pool.  And he’s so humble that you wouldn’t even know just how awesome he is….except he [...]

He’s just cool, relaxed, and chill.  As much as I enjoyed hanging with Scott for his laid back and witty humor, he is a seriously impressive senior! He’s rocking the AP college classes.  And the soccer field.  AND the pool.  And he’s so humble that you wouldn’t even know just how awesome he is….except he shines from the inside out and you just know he’s got that certain something…so I dug for information…and he just casually mentions that he’s taking 347 AP classes.  Ok, ok, not THAT many.

But he probably could if he wanted to!

Some of my favorites from our time together…

I LOVE his eyes…and this look he gives…….buhhh-ring it!

We HAD to get into the pool so Scott could show what he’s made of.  Look at that form!

The suit and tie in the water? His idea…would you expect anything less from this phenom senior?

Good luck on your senior year! Hope it’s as awesome as you!

Just checking in and leaving a quick photo of a night football game I covered… night sports is and probably always will be my weakest photography link…it’s on my things to work on! This shot isn’t even edited.  I didn’t submit it for publication so it’s straight out of the camera…

Great Names

And now it’s time for… Great Names In U.S. History!

Nah, just kidding (well, not about the Washington part).
BUT what about Franklin Covey? Stephen Covey? or Covey Run wine?
I saw this sign in Burlington, CT and just about drove off the road (truth: I DO get excited about ridiculous things).  My aunt tells me I have [...]

BUT what about Franklin Covey? Stephen Covey? or Covey Run wine?

I saw this sign in Burlington, CT and just about drove off the road (truth: I DO get excited about ridiculous things).  My aunt tells me I have some history here so this doesn’t surprise her.  If any of those wealthy relatives want to come out of the woodwork, now is a great time!

So many great moments and photos of this amazing team… too many favorites to narrow them down! (I made sure to decrease the resolution a LOT and make them small so you wouldn’t be waiting around for an hour while the pics load) Here are a few of my favorites…

The beautiful sister waiting in the wings…

Balcony shot…

Festive with bubbles…

How could you not love these guys?!

My heart melts when I look at this photo…

THIS is the fierce I was talking about…

The tossing of the garter! These shots were hilarious – the second before it threw across the room, and the dive to go get it!

Please note the Michael Jackson glove….what I would have done to get video of this guy doing his MJ thang!

You know I love the detail ring shots!

Once I’ve got the safe shots, I like to experiment with lighting.  Love the flash flare on the next photo…put on the other side of the room specifically for this effect…

Then I thought I’d have some fun with shadows…

Thank you T & J for hiring me to document your beautiful day! Everyone made it an amazing experience! Much love and luck to this fierce team!

Speaking of great teams…a lot of people make a wedding such as this absolutely stunning…special thanks to:

Hair and makeup (these girls were amazing and made everyone look fab!): Elements of Style in Barneveld

Reception: Twin Ponds Golf & Country Club

Awesome DJ (go see Michael for a superb event d.j. He’s amazing!) : A Touch of Class Entertainment

A huge shout out to the girls at Elements of Style in Barneveld, NY who could not have been more fantastic.

The bride and her girls looked stunning! Some favorites from the getting ready portion of the day…

I just love this, her bridal party was SO amazing, and her girls, so beautiful!

The final details…fresh flowers and a gorgeous veil!

At the church, Taylor’s dress was exquisite, with a touch of fun that I LOVE when brides add to their look…colorful shoes to match her girls!

This is one of my favorite shots. Her girls paid such attention to detail when they were helping her with the dress.  Lots of love in that room!

Her mom adds a little bling, from Joette’s Gifts

Meantime the boys kill some time in the back of the church while the girls got beautified…

Tomorrow’s blog post…the main event!

These photos…wasn’t feeling it, was pressed for time because I had other news stories to shoot and not enough hours in the day…sometimes do you just feel off, like a puzzle piece that doesn’t quite fit but you jam it in there anyway? That’s how I felt today.  Better stuff tomorrow, I promise!

Crazy clown…

I wanted to put the photos I took from the 9th ward…but I want to sit on them and think a bit.  BTW here is a great blog post on the subject, from a man far more eloquent than I.
