With a bright blue sky overhead, warm sunshine, and love in the air, it was a perfect day for wedded bliss.  I had the honor and pleasure of photographing Katie & Kevin’s wedding in Connecticut on a recent glorious Saturday.  At every turn, relatives and friends were smiling and laughing.  Katie was absolutely breathtaking.  I loved all of the details of this wedding, including the gorgeous ceremony and reception site.  A few of my favorites from this perfect day…

The girls did their hair at Shear Image in Newtown.  The ladies did a great job, the girls looked fab!

Back at the Waterview I shot some last minute makeup preparations and then ran upstairs to check in with the guys…

After that, the girls were pretty much ready to roll! GORGEOUS!

Blog readers…meet America’s next Top Model! Little Anai knows her poses (she did a better job than most of those girls I see on that show, ha haa!) And, trust… she is waaaay more charismatic! I’ll let the photos do the talking, because she is just full of personality and energy.  It was hard to [...]

Blog readers…meet America’s next Top Model! Little Anai knows her poses (she did a better job than most of those girls I see on that show, ha haa!) And, trust… she is waaaay more charismatic! I’ll let the photos do the talking, because she is just full of personality and energy.  It was hard to pick my favorites!

Love these next black and white ones.  She is so natural…whether its smiling or just hanging out!

I adore this…no posing whatsoever.  She’s just taking a break!

This next one isn’t really my editing style but I thought I’d have some fun.  The shoot was pretty much done, we were just playing around, and I photoshopped in some cool vintage colors and made it look like film…I think it works when done sparsely.  Clearly we can’t always have pink skies, lol!

And my absolute favorites of the bunch…always a good time to play in the water!

Jinnette and Anai, thank you SO much for the honor!!  There aren’t two ladies I’d rather spend a day at the beach with! xoxo

It was that kind of day.  I woke up with the weight of my to do list pressing down on my shoulders and mind.  I had so much to accomplish, and as usual, not enough hours in the day to do it.  Standing in the shower, letting the hot water beat on my face in the morning, neither woke me up, nor did it wash away any of the tasks of the day.

“Well, at least I get to shoot a lot today,” I reassured myself.  And I did shoot a lot.  But.  I.  Did.  Not.  Shoot.  Well.  Everything was a “Oh if I had just gotten it a half second before” or, “Oh if I was only on THAT side of the field.”  And so unfolded the day, much like this next shot: slightly off and definitely missing something (the ball just out of frame, natch).  A coworker who took my photos looked at them and said, “I’ll make due.”  Not a positive sign, people.

Tomorrow is a new day with new energy.

This photo shoot had me really, really excited for a number of reasons: Mainly, because it’s not often I get to shoot events that don’t involve balloons or Yo Gabba Gabba.  For realz.  So it’s some out of the box shooting for me! I jumped at the chance.  Decree is a band most often seen [...]

This photo shoot had me really, really excited for a number of reasons: Mainly, because it’s not often I get to shoot events that don’t involve balloons or Yo Gabba Gabba.  For realz.  So it’s some out of the box shooting for me! I jumped at the chance.  Decree is a band most often seen around central New York.  They are fantastic.  And I don’t say that lightly…because if you know me, you know it takes a lot of effort to get me out on a Saturday night! I would go out any night of the week to see these guys! Some of my favorites…

Not only are the guys photogenic, they are pretty damn cool.  All of them were up for photos and didn’t mind (apparently) me laying on the ground as they were performing, or mixing it up with all of their fans (and there were a LOT).

There is a saying in photography.  It goes something like, “Get the shot that everyone’s paying for, then do your thing.” These next few shots are me doing my thing, ha ha haa!

The next sequence of shots are my favorite.  It shows the range that frontman Bill has…he goes from superstar quality to a more brooding, serious singer.  I only hope I did them justice…

Check out this band as soon as you can, and like them on Facebook!

Grabbed some action shots of a soccer team today.  I love soccer.  Shockingly, I used to play it.  (Briefly.  Very briefly…I hated how the ball would be zooming all over the place and I refused to get it near my head.) I was a wuss even then.  Thankfully these girls are not and I got [...]

Every day I walk to work, I look up at a huge clock tower staring back at me.  I am appreciative that I get to work out of such an interesting and unique building in a great location.  It used to serve as a train station and now it is housed with offices and a giant printing press for the newspaper.  I have been wanting to climb up that tower since I spotted it almost exactly two years ago.  When the opportunity came, I nudged myself into the adventure! I am not really one for heights…as I was climbing my knees got soft and my stomach got a tad queasy.  I am such a wimp.  Luckily there was a railing that I clung to, all the while thinking…”just don’t faint in front of these people…”

The shots from up top were worth it though! First, you can see the tower and it’s history, here.

Sometimes I get really behind.  Not with clients or shoots per say, just with myself.
I’ll have money in the bank but bills go unpaid.  I’ll have to mail things (and they’re stamped) but I can’t find a mailbox.
And I don’t even want to begin how long it’s been since I’ve run.  But I digress…

In this case, I have abandoned blogging for the past week.  Not good.  Will try to stay on track!
