I’ve been knee deep in basketball championships all week! Some of the games have been aggressive and fun to shoot.  I have some portrait sessions to post, but am a little behind (shocker).  There are not enough hours in the day!

Sometimes you get to work with someone who is so amazing, you fall in love with photography all over again.  Kristy’s photo shoot brought back all the excitement of a new love.

She is Creatively Fearless.

I can not state enough how much this benefits me, the subject, or the results of the shoot.  When someone is boundless in front of the camera, willing to try anything and just go with it, the result is real, natural, beautiful emotion.  In my experience, it can only be captured when you strip away the shyness, fear or embarrassment that naturally comes when you find yourself in front of a photographer.  Some of my favorites…

We headed outside to see what we could get on a cold February day.  Despite the winter grayness that surrounded us, the sunshine really helped make things pop! About an hour later it was completely hazy and gray again! The photography Gods blessed us!

An absolute natural in front of the camera, we were able to quickly get lots of outfits in for Kristy’s headshot session.  Folks, it was NOT warm out there.  This girl handled it like a boss!

A talented makeup artist and hair stylist, Elena needed some new head shots that showcase her style and fabulousness! We decided a slightly vintage/old Hollywood classic look would be the theme running throughout the shoot.  When I saw she brought a fur cape…well, clearly she knocked it out of the park!

All of the accessories are Elena’s own…and I thought they were a great touch to convey different looks.  She’s so freikin’ cute in this next set!

For part of the shoot, I asked Elena if she wouldn’t mind some dramatic lighting, to add to the diversity of the looks.  She was all in! And she looks fierce!

Elena is a talented makeup artist and did all of her own work for this shoot, so if you’re in need of a girl who knows her products and also loves what she does, she’s your girl!

Had the pleasure of shooting a very special 1 year old’s birthday recently! Just wanted to share a few of my favorites from this super fun day: amazing dj, great people, awesome detail decorations and fun activities planned.  I tend not to publicly showcase too many images or events that involve children whom I didn’t get permission from their parents, so here are just a few of my favorites…

Covered a red carpet event for a horror movie called “The Innkeepers.” The most interesting part for me was where it was all filmed…at a local hotel in Connecticut! The film is great and after meeting the cast and the talent that put it all together…I hope it is a smashing success!

What can I say than you can’t already see for yourself in a second? Gorgeous eyes, cheekbones and smile…but you knew that.  Travis is also personable and fun…an absolute pleasure to shoot.
