What you get when you combine great ideas and imagination from adults, along with children who are really easy to work with.  Some of my favorites from a holiday mini shoot, where everyone really pitched in to get some unique and great moments!

There exists a perfect age.  An age when children say the most adorable things, that simultaneously crack you up and make you want to give them something that will make them stay that age forever.  Zayden is at that age.  I want to put him in a snow globe and just see what he says [...]

There exists a perfect age.  An age when children say the most adorable things, that simultaneously crack you up and make you want to give them something that will make them stay that age forever.  Zayden is at that age.  I want to put him in a snow globe and just see what he says next.  He is SO smart, the things he says are far beyond his years…and he just oozes personality and charisma.  Z was an absolute joy to be around! Some of my favorites…

Look at this kid! Someone call GQ magazine!

So much thanks to Zayden’s family who are beautiful, kind and were an absolute pleasure to work with!

Our meet-cute was in 1990.  We were assigned to the same large wooden table to work on a ‘Home and Careers’ class sewing assignment.  I was stitching a miniature arm – backwards – onto a stuffed penguin.  Becky was cracking jokes and smiling.  Immediately, we were united.

She was the type of girl you loved to love: hilarious, kind, forgiving.

What I learned in seventh grade, holds true over two decades later.  Becky is magnificent.  A woman who is always there for you: silent yet strong.  Months pass between meetups, yet time disappears when we reunite again.  There is not a kinder, more compassionate soul who exists…I’ve always believed Becky was born to be a mother.  Her husband? A lovable teddy bear who always greets you with a smile and a hug.

I worship them, so when Brandon joined us in this world, there was no question I was going to Columbus to document yet another great accomplishment from Becky & Justin…

Brandon was the perfect baby.  (look at his parents, natch!) This actually was a challenging shoot for me technically because I haven’t used natural light to photograph a newborn in about 3 years! (Couldn’t hall my studio lights on plane…darn!)

This little one smiles when he sleeps, and it could be the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen…

I like ending the shoot with relaxed family portraits.  Three of my favorite people all on one couch!

Becky and Justin, you know you will always be highest on my pedestal.  I am lucky to have you in my life and beyond excited for the newest addition.  I am honored to photograph this perfect being, and will remain in awe of your continued love for each other and everyone around you.

As Annie Lebovitz once said, “A thing that you see in my pictures is that I was not afraid to fall in love with these people.”

Nothing could be truer for me as it relates to this family.  I’ve photographed them quite a few times, and each time I get a little more excited to see them.  The parents of these dynamic little ones are the few people who I actually imagine props for.

I was at an antique flea market and saw the coca-cola box and the red chair…and I thought, I bet Isa (mom) would love this! And so it was.  Next time she contacted me I tossed out the idea….she loved it.  Add some stunning children…instant magic!

Let it be known that I don’t even try to pose little Isla anymore.  This girl has more personality than anyone I’ve ever met, so she just does her thing and you try to keep up!

Little “Bee” is really coming into his own, and looks EXACTLY like dad!

Thanks guys for another awesome session! Adore you all!

After some time outside we went in for an outfit change and an inside studio session (much too cold for tutus in NY in November!) and I loved the children interacting with each other…

Saving my favorite photo for last…One feeding the other one fruit jellies.  This couldn’t be more adorable if we tried!

A heartfelt thank you to the Kadens for a great day!

One look at this little girl’s eyes and she takes your breath away.  They are piercing.  Add that and the beautiful smile she flashes often, it’s hard not to swoon! Thank you to Alison and the whole family for a fun, unforgettable day at the park.

It was a recipe for a perfect afternoon: the people were gracious and kind, the fall colors and sunset was amazing.  Here are a few favorites during a recent family session in New Jersey…

The last shot of the day, waving goodbye…

Alison, thank you so much for the honor of photographing your gorgeous family! Have an amazing holiday!

Bella was born to be in front of the camera.  With a million expressions, I couldn’t stop taking her photo.  Every click resulted in something different and unique.  I often sing the praises of clean, crisp backdrops.  Despite occasional requests through the years to get patterns or fake backgrounds, I just can’t do it.

This angel’s face reminds me why.  There is nothing more stunning than a child’s face lit up against a pure background.  Your eyes immediately are drawn to this beauty…her dancing eyes and precious smile.

This 7-month-old is happy to pose and play, and even busted out some impressive dance moves! (Thank you Yo Gabba Gabba for continuing to make my life easier…) Some of my favorites from our time together:

Dance off…

Thank you Isabella and family for a great time! (Special shout out to this gorgeous little boy who helped make everything smooth and fun!)

Mom’s a baker, so huge kudos for baking up some cupcakes for the sessions! This sequence of shots is just the cutest…we’re encouraging them to interact by putting some frosting on each other…then deciding it was more fun to eat…

Thank you all for a great session and a reminder about why I love what I do so much! You guys are lovely!
