Today’s mission: Go to restaurants and kitchens across Connecticut and photograph a number of dishes for a recipe contest.  Done.  Sign me up.  Now.  Yes!
Oh and I get to taste test? Shut up! I’m there!

I have this insane addiction for bread sometimes…the chewy, flavorful kind…soft on the inside and hard on the outside… like this heavenly sun dried tomato loaf.  I could eat an entire loaf…strike that…I HAVE eaten loaves this size, who am I kidding? Give me some italian oil and keep your hands away from my face…

One of the highlights of my job is getting to shoot restaurant videos.  I do little 2 minute commercials for area eateries and It. Is. Awesome.  It’s a ton of fun being back in the kitchen with the staff as they create dishes for families to enjoy.  I’m sure I don’t have to mention this, but I love eating, waaaaay more than normal people.  I like the art of preparation, the little touches a chef makes to a dish.  While my main job is to shoot and edit video of these restaurants, I always snap a few quick stills using natural light just to make sure they have them (I really don’t like grabbing still images from a video screen.  For the amount of time it takes to grab a still camera, it’s SO worth it!)

This shoot is from Pizza Castle in Waterbury, CT.  It’s a locally owned place with awesome food!

I do quite a few of these restaurant video-commercial type shoots and I am always sure to take stills in case they are needed. Everything is always fresh, colorful, and awesome looking!
