She’s the kind of girl most of us wish we were in high school but were far from achieving.  A fun and fashionable straight-out-of-Teen-Vogue, kind of gal.  To photograph this amazing teen was an absolute pleasure.  She is very relaxed in front of the camera and has an easy style about her.  She really epitomizes [...]

She really epitomizes the kind of senior I wish I could photograph every single day of the week!

It was a very gray day in CNY and to make matters worse, it was threatening rain all day and downpoured after 4 minutes of us showing up to Onondaga Lake Park.  Didn’t matter to Sam, she took it in stride and rocked it anyway!

To say the least, she brought it!

Love the soft red colors serving as a backdrop!

She is a natural.  Clearly!

Just some fun ones at the end of the session which turned out adorable!

Samantha, all the best for your senior year! xoxo

An incredibly handsome senior.  A cool vintage car.  An epic bike.  I don’t think it gets any easier than this…

Love these next two photos, he looks like he should be in a movie! (It’s like “The Fast and the Furious” meets “Burn Notice.”)…

Thank you Nick and Jennifer (and the gang who turned out to watch!).  Had a blast and much luck to you in the future!

To say this sweet and spirited teen is ambitious could be the understatement of the year! In between taking college courses, playing an instrument and dancing…she manages to find the time to be absolutely fabulous! I was exhausted thinking about all that she does day in and day out, but it made my day all that more stellar when she found time to do her senior photos with me!

We started off at at Kami’s Kix Dance Studio in Hannibal, NY.  (Take the 10 seconds to go like her on Facebook…I’ll wait!!) The studio could not have been more accommodating, I am super appreciative that the owner had no problem letting us set up lights and jamming for awhile! A few of my favorites…

We did our outside shots another day (thank you Hurricane Irene) but it was clearly worth the wait.  It ended up being absolutely lovely at Breitbeck Park in Oswego!

I’ll end with one of my favorites…Suzanne just letting the wind blow in her beautiful hair on the hill…love the feel of this photo!

Thank you so much to Suzanne and her mother Theresa for a great time and allowing me to continue to do what I love.  I am so grateful.

Check out Suzanne’s senior recap video here!

I think her beauty shines from the inside out and I could not have been more thrilled with the results.  She made it so easy, all I had to do was follow her and press some buttons.  Done and done! Some of my favorites during our time together…

After we wrapped up at the park, I wanted to take advantage of the golden sunset unfolding…she led me to water, literally…so we could finish up the shoot in some glorious glow!

Yes, she’s completely stunning…love these looks!

Cerise, you are truly amazing.  You have more style, class and brains than people I know double your age! Adore you!!

xoxo

I promised the kids that I wouldn’t blog all of the family images, so I’m just giving you one of my favorites from a recent senior session/family session in Syracuse, NY:

She is lovely! Congrats to Anna, class of 2012!

Stunning Senior

She’s got the looks, the brains, the talent.  In fact, there isn’t much Caitlin can’t do.  She is on her school’s winning academic decathlon team, plays an instrument, is gracious and personable…oh, and clearly she’s stunning! Much appreciation to Tiffany who was our makeup artist for the afternoon!  Here are some favorites during our time together in Syracuse, NY.

Caitlin has a smile that can stop traffic…

Franklin Square was our shoot location, and the greenery and brick were perfect.

Am completely obsessed with the outfits Caitlin chose.  She brought the style! I particularly love this navy outfit on the right…

Thanks so much to Caitlin for making this day so much fun.  You’re the easiest person on earth to photograph! Good luck in all your future plans!

Just checking in real quick to say “Holla!” and passing along a link that I forgot to share awhile back.  It’s a fun video I did with a senior…

KeyAna: Class of Awesome

How can I tell in 12 seconds that I will fall in love with a high school senior?
A.) She brings a suitcase full of props and goodies to play with.
B.) She’s fiercely gorgeous.
c.) She has style that eclipses anything I’ve seen (and hello, we’re in NYC, that’s hard to do!).
D.) All of the above!

D.) All of the above!

Answer? D!! Meet keyAna, who is breathtaking (duh…)

She couldn’t be cuter if she tried…

Fun behind-the-scenes fact: I made KeyAna jump in front of this brick facade about a million times.  I just couldn’t get the shot perfect while she’s in mid-air.

And I kept asking her to do it again.  And again.  She took it in stride though, and nailed it!

Love the contrast of a gritty urban seen behind a soft, sleek dress with a delicate ribbon.

KeyAna, you just bring it without even knowing it! Had a blast with your family, good luck to you and have a stellar senior year!!

I should call him the man of a thousand faces, because really, I have never seen so many looks from a single person.
Bryce can go from laughing, to seriously intense, to innocent, to edgy… in about 3 seconds flat… Here are some of my favorites:

I was thrilled and honored to be able to shoot Bryce recently in studio! He is gorgeous, funny and easy going…instantly we were friends just being silly in the studio.  He is exceptionally relaxed in front of the camera and at one point I’m like, “Dude, seriously? Should I even be here? Just take my camera already!” He’s that good.

Changing up a classic pose…adding some movement in the second photo (below) and keeping the shutter open just long enough to rock out…

I love his hair and it looked awesome for our session… but I HAD have him mess it up a bit.  I just LOVE this next shot!

He does serious looks very well and his bone structure reflects light beautifully… Easiest.  Session.  Ever.

Thank you Bryce (and his mom who was awesome to hang out and let us be goofy in studio!).  Had SUCH a fun time!

Thank You

To those who entered the high school senior contest, thank you! I had a lot of fun reading the entries and picked some stellar teens who will represent the Erin Covey Creative brand this year in their schools.  In short, I’m psyched!

So, thanks to the winners: Bryce, Jordyn, Caitlyn, Cerise, and KeyAna.  They represent CT, NY, and DC…and I couldn’t be more pleased since those are my main markets.  More to come after the shoots!
