I’ve been slowly getting caught up on my shoots, and in many cases, my life! For probably the first time this year my “to do” list has more things crossed off than not.  Hooray!

Apologies for not updating the blog.  During wedding season, at times I feel as if I’m a car that went off a cliff and is suspended in the air: I could make it safely to the other side, having the ride of my life…or I could plummet to the bottom and explode.  I shot my last wedding (full wedding, I have a few receptions to cover) of 2011 so things should get back to “normal.”  Whatever that means.  Hopefully I will be able to get caught up on other things, but things always seem to pop up and nothing ever gets done unless it HAS to get done.

Here’s to nonstop action!

Me and volleyball is similar to me and sports in general…I’m really not on top of my game! (Rimshot!! I’ll be here all night, tip your bartenders!) But after a few sets, I thought I got the hang of it…

Girls volleyball tonight! Definitely my best shoot ever in this sport (I know this isn’t really saying much given my history, but throw me a bone).

There is nothing better than real moments.  It’s the time before or after the pose and the pose instructions.  It’s the moment when they think you’re not looking.  It’s the moment that matters.

I shot a ton of action shots and interaction during this volleyball game…but it was this shot that captivated me.  These two girls, obviously great friends, embracing for a few seconds after they won a game…
